Chickpeas Kadhi masala is a great dish or masala to enjoy with homemade bread full of nutrition‘s and a lot more fiber in there!
Very easy to make is a great and very delicious enjoyable dish loved by every Indian as well as American and internationally enjoyed❤️👍
Take 3 cups of chickpeas and 1/4 cup of black chickpeas together Soaked it for 4 to 5 hours or overnight and drain it and add 1 teaspoon of baking soda rub on the Chickpeas, baking soda is kind of tenderizer which going to make the chickpea softer and develop some flavor in there when we boil it!
Take 4 to 5 cups of water in a pan add couple sticks of cinnamon for flavor let it boil and at boiling temperature add the chickpeas in there which we kept on the side for 30 minutes and make sure it is on the side for 30 minutes before we put in the boiling water and once it’s in the boiling water let it boil it for a couple minutes and cover it and leave at a low medium heat for next 30 -40 minutes and check after 30 minutes if they get soften if they are Not soft or tender give more time 5 to 10 minutes and then you press it if they pressed easily it means they’r done they are ready otherwise give 5 to 10 minutes more if you need to edit more water you can
For gravy you need one medium size onion 5 to 6 cloves of garlic and 1 to 2 inch off gingers stick blend them together to make a paste in a pan add 3 to 4 tablespoon of oil add some gram masala 2 tsp cumin 1 teaspoon black pepper half teaspoon Bay leaf 3 to 4 and some cloves 5 to 6 let them pop in the oil and paste of ginger garlic cook it by adding 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
1 teaspoon of turmeric
1 teaspoon of mango powder
2 teaspoon of Gram masala cook them well by adding salt
1 teaspoon Cook well did you start releasing some oil and add 2 cups of chopped tomatoes cook them till they get soften and form a smooth Gravy when they cooked well add chickpeas and mix them well and add small chunks of boiled potatoes for better taste of the gravy , my son like potatoes in the chickpeas and I’m going to add for him and it also makes a very tasty gravy!
Simmer it 15 to 20 minutes till all the taste incorporated well in potatoes as well as in the chickpeas cool it for 20 to 30 minutes before you serve it and garnish with some wheals of tomatoes
Julian soft ginger
some green chilies
wedges of lime and
