Mercy Fort Smith and Kindred Rehabilitation Hospital have partnered to build a new 40-bed rehabilitation hospital on the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education campus in Chaffee Crossing, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
The hospital will provide a wide variety of rehabilitation services as well as an opportunity for ACHE students to augment medical school studies, work rotations, and be resident doctors. ACHE is home to Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine which has 150 student doctors per class. In the fall of 2021, ACHE will open Arkansas College of Health Sciences to offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physician assistant medical degrees. Each of these disciplines is well suited to complement the services of the rehabilitation hospital.
